Enter RheoData, a data migration specialist that helps firms optimize their migration strategy by tackling challenges around cost, process improvements, and integration. So companies can not only move their data faster into the platform of choice, across the cloud and on-premise, but also make the best use of the resources available in the platform for better business performance and customer satisfaction.
Led by Oracle veteran Bobby Curtis, RheoData offers consulting, end-to-end process management, and managed services that enable companies to take a well-rounded approach to data migration and management. Through its consulting service, RheoData understands clients’ business needs and zeroes in on the right tools for migration. The company’s holistic process management ensures a smooth migration process and a swift cloud/hybrid/on premise set up for quick ROI. Through its managed services, RheoData maintains clients’ database systems in any IT environment for maximum data performance and efficiency.
At the outset of client engagement, RheoData uses a proprietary assessment tool (a SQL file) to understand the existing data structures of the clients’ database and compare it with the formats supported by the replication software. This gives an idea as to how much data can be moved, time, and resources required to complete the migration process. The company can also conduct free or price-based proof of concept for migration, based on the data size.
To deliver high value to clients, Curtis brings to bear his previous experience of being the product manager of Oracle GoldenGate, a specialized replication tool for real-time data integration in Oracle and heterogenous environments. “Organizations typically lack the technical knowledge and expertise in developing advanced use cases for Oracle GoldenGate, we have shaped our business as a specialist in this domain,” says Curtis. RheoData takes a nuanced approach to integrate GoldenGate into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) so that clients can make the most of the resources available in the cloud environment. “OCI beats other cloud platforms because it was built natively to support enterprise solutions while others are more developer-focused,” highlights Curtis.
In a case study, one of its clients, using OCI and GoldenGate, wanted to share data with their retail stores running on onpremise technology. RheoData helped the client build the data architecture for seamless interconnection between Oracle and downstream heterogenous environments.
Currently, RheoData is helping its other client adopt Oracle GoldenGate Microservices architecture, the latest cloudbased version that supports high-speed data movement at a low cost. RheoData is assessing ways to improve the client’s Oracle database, Oracle GoldenGate, and core infrastructures operations with HashiCorp products to lay a strong bedrock for next-generation implementations and cloud adoption.
With a clientele that includes Fortune 500 companies, RheoData, as a veteran-owned small technology business, will soon begin venturing in the federal government space. To ensure top-notch delivery while expanding its business, RheoData is all set to hire new consultants that can aid in the implementation of services and solutions that drive enterprise modernization.
